From the liner notes: "The recordings which are included here are a selection from the thousands of hours of music and song preserved in the archives of the Department of Irish Folklore, University College Dublin, formerly the Irish Folklore Commission." The recordings date from between 1941 and 1987. Not indexed here: track 3 (Caoineadh).
